The San Fernando Valley, in the heart of the Creative Capital of the World, deserves a great Museum of history and culture.

This is indeed looking East. The hill has greatly been reshaped, but is basically where the 10 UCP Tower - and City Walk beyond - now stand. Of note, the four "Royal" palm trees that still grace the court are just babies here, and the fountain is shown in an original condition before the addition of cement and the center stone memorial to Dona Bernarda Ruiz - one of the women of the Campo history (the daughter of the great Don Lugo, Bernarda intercepted Fremont on his southern march and after pleading the case for peace she all but dictated the terms of the Articles of Capitulation). Also of note in the photo is the original front (historic) wall (now gone) and to the far right the service and kennel buildings used by the veterinarian who used the Campo as an animal hospital during the early 20th Century.
