DAY 7 WALK ON VENTURA

CHERISHING OUR VALLEY     2013

Much of my walk on Ventura Boulevard, after visiting with the sculptor-artist Taraneh Mozafarian, was taken up by the crossing of the boulevard by the 101 Freeway.

Looking west on Ventura Boulevard at Shoup Avenue. This is the access point on the boulevard to the 101 Freeway.

Ventura Boulevard heading east at the 101 Freeway. Houses to the south have an impressive view of the west San Fernando Valley. (click on image to enlarge it.)  February 2013.

Patio landscaping at the Villa Restaurant in Woodland Hills. In good weather, patrons can eat in this heavily wooded garden.

The Woodland Hills Branch of the Los Angeles Public Library.  These glass and metal sculptures, called Trees of Knowledge by Marlene Rubenstein, are in the main entrance. Too often, important works such as these panels by Rubenstein are upstaged by signage and under emphasized.
